Golden Interiors interior design studio assists homeowners and commercial offices re-invent their existing interiors with creative planning, removing walls to open up spaces, flipping placement of windows and doors, adding clever storage solutions, and building additions or bump-outs.  Along with planning and design, Mrs. Golden is an expert Kitchen Designer and Lighting Designer with experience designing specialty light fixtures, concealed fixtures, and decorative options to provide drama and glare-free work environments.  Her Kitchen planning includes all functions from cooking, cleaning, storage, technology and creating specialty details to add uniqueness.

Mrs. Golden, founder of Golden Interiors Design & Remodeling opened the firm in 1990 in Fairfax, Virginia. With 30+ years’ experience she works quickly with homeowners to understand their requirements, needs and wishes.  In one Design Consult meeting floor plan measurements are taken, drawn to scale and several scaled space plans are drafted with the client’s input.  Many times kitchen and bath layouts, home remodeling and expansion ideas are finalized in the first meeting.  From there, the firm has the ability to provide full-service design-build construction, selecting all products and finishes and providing a finished space.  Construction or Remodeling begins when all new products and finishes are on-site, allowing for the shortest interruption of downtime within your home.

Peggy, a lifetime dog owner, has a special bond with domestic pets; many look forward to greeting her as they are attracted to her warm, loving demeanor with them. When advising pet homeowners, we provide advice for materials, pet-friendly solutions, and maintenance.

Peggy Golden, ASID Founder Golden Interiors Design & Remodeling

Peggy Golden, ASID, born and raised in Boston, MA, is typical of many growing up in a college town.  During her formative years, she took independent classes at Boston University, Lowell University, MA College of Art and Design; she received an Associate of Arts degree from Mt Ida Jr College and a BFA in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Her background in both arts and science with her extensive field experience allows her to excel in technical aspects of large projects, today’s technology requirements and she has a unique perspective on all aspects of construction methods and design detailing.  Always ready for a solution to problem spaces and construction oops on the job, Peggy resolves all issues easily pleasing the client and assisting the contractor.

After graduating, she worked at a Newton, MA architectural firm, SunLife of Canada, and Digital Equipment Corporation before moving to NYC.  There she apprenticed under skilled Interior Designers, Architects, Mechanical and Electrical engineer professionals, and as a Project Manager/Designer, ran many large-scale commercial projects for Fortune 500 companies.  While developing her skills, she had access to Lighting consultants, top design talent, and manufacturers in the city.  With 8 years of experience working in NYC’s fast-paced environment and designing numerous businesses, law firms, financial services companies, stock traders, banks, clothing stores, and high-end residential, she moved to Northern Virginia and opened Golden Interiors Design & Remodeling.

Peggy was invited to be a Board Member for the Washington, DC ASID Chapter and served 2 years as a Board Member and 2 years as the Chapter Treasurer.  She worked with several non-profit ventures as part of her ASID responsibilities: Residential Youth Services, No. VA Visiting Nurses Association, Community Design Services, and has donated products to different groups.  During her PTA years, she served as Treasurer for Fairview Elementary School assisting with many community events.
