I found Golden Interiors on Houzz and after our meeting felt very comfortable working with Peggy to remodeling my 3 story townhome top to bottom. Peggy offered many new flooring selections – real wood for the Main Level, carpeting for the Bedroom Level and wood grain vinyl flooring for lower level and stairway. The new stairs are not slippery and look stunning as if they are real wood. Peggy selected new light fixtures, wood blinds and a classic neutral paint color scheme with an accent color throughout updated my home perfectly. While I disappeared for 3 weeks Peggy oversaw all the work and assisted with small problems that arose; referring me to specialty contractors to take care of gutters and plumbing issues. I am thrilled with my newly remodeled home and love the selections we made. We began working with Peggy Golden last year reviewing design ideas and cabinetry details for remodeling our Kitchen and Butler’s Pantry. Peggy’s recommendations and selections on appliances, sink, cabinets, countertops, flooring and lighting are perfect in our newly remodeled Kitchen. Her knowledge of materials and attention to detail were outstanding. We wanted help with their recommendations for furniture arrangement, fabric selections, window treatments and color selections. We quickly realized Ms. Golden possessed total interior design skills. Our Design and Build firm was long on “build” and short on “design.” She expertly developed a lighting plan, created a custom shelving unit, drew up precise specifications for our crown and case moldings, steered us to an excellent furniture retailer, selected fabrics, and helped us with tile selection for our backsplash.
Ms. Golden demonstrated to us time and again a keen sense of design, of color discernment, and a depth of professional knowledge. Golden Interiors helped us with the planning and design of our kitchen remodeling project this summer. Peggy Golden reviewed our building contractors plans and had many improved suggestions for cabinetry components, appliances, sinks and faucets, space saving ideas and lighting designs we would never have thought of. She suggested we create a larger pantry closet with better storage than the cabinet company pantry cabinets and this saved money on cabinetry while providing us with better more efficient storage space. At the start of 2020, we worked with Golden Interiors to update our kitchen without doing a complete renovation. Peggy suggested new lighting and custom window treatments that would change the character of the room. We removed the old down light center island fixtures and replaced with new pendant fixtures, added a new elegant chandelier for the kitchen dining area, and changed the old builder ceiling downlights to new contemporary LED fixtures to brighten the kitchen. The search for traditional design light fixtures that would work well with our home was lengthy, but Peggy presented numerous options until we were happy. The window treatment fabric was perfect for our existing color scheme, and the fabrication of the drapery valances is very professional. Peggy and her crews patiently worked around our schedule with the installation over several months, and further took precautions to protect us in the home during this difficult year. We are very happy with the results, and we now have a newly updated kitchen in which we are happy to entertain friends and relatives – whenever that day may come!

Peggy Golden came out on New Year’s Day to evaluate and give her expert opinion on our troublesome kitchen that another ” kitchen designer ” had previously drawn for us. She opened the appliances checking for clearances and actually got on the floor to mark where the present design had flaws. Peggy came up with many suggestions to solve our appliance layout problems and pointed out problems that we had not yet discovered. I wish I had known about her before I started my kitchen renovation. It would have save us a lot of time, money and grief. You will not find another design specialist that will become that invested in your project. Save your time and money looking for an interior designer. I have done your homework for you ! We had begun remodeling and adding an addition to our home this spring/summer when we asked Golden Interiors to help us with planning decisions that we were stuck on. Peggy’s sound advice and planning efforts were critical to having a home and new expanded kitchen that we are enjoying now that it is completed. One of the best decisions was installing a pantry closet for storage and the contractor fitted it with a sliding glass door. Peggy helped with the overall house, kitchen and outdoor deck plan and she also drew detailed Cabinet Elevations for our contractor to work from. We consulted with Peggy on color schemes and materials, she has extensive knowledge about construction, cabinets, appliances and more. We worked with Peggy Golden, Golden Interiors, for several months over the past year on a residential project renovation in Washington, DC where we converted a 4 story residential building into two separate 2 level condominiums. Peggy developed the floor plans twice for us. The first design was a 3 bedroom plan and the 2nd plan she created included two-bedrooms with an integral den between them – a great use of space!. She also consulted on various discrete items, including lighting ideas, HVAC installation, paint colors, kitchen ideas and assisted us in creating a successful final package.
